Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies those results. Toms River Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search entries. A message sent to us contains only what you choose to include and is used to respond.
Routine Technical Data
The host may create standard logs, such as IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or comparable tools can support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
Our Limited Uses
Information is used to operate, secure, repair, measure, and improve the service. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing of personal data. New Jersey’s Data Privacy Act is P.L. 2023, c.266, N.J.S.A. 56:8-166.4 et seq.; its rights and exemptions should be read with current state guidance. Because this service keeps little data, requests generally involve the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page. Public records controlled by New Jersey, Ocean County, or Toms River custodians must be addressed to those custodians.
Policy Changes
A revised policy will be posted here. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised version.
